A federal high court in Lagos has granted ₦50 million bail to socialite Mike Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, and his associate, Joachim Hillary following their arraignment for drug-related offences.

Pretty Mike and Hillary, who appeared before Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa on Thursday, were arraigned by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, unlawful possession of narcotics, and allowing the use of the club premises for illegal drug activities.

According to the NDLEA, the offences were committed around October 26, 2025, at the nightclub located on Akin Adesola street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Prosecution counsel, Buhari Abdullahi, told the court that Hillary was found with 200 grams of cannabis without authorization, while Pretty Mike allegedly permitted drug activities to take place at his club.

    Both defendants pleaded not guilty.

Their lawyer, Dr. B.S. Awosika (SAN), urged the court to grant bail on liberal terms, saying the defendants had no criminal record and would be available for trial.

However, Abdullahi opposed the request, arguing that the nature of the offences warranted caution.

In his ruling, Justice Lewis-Allagoa held that the prosecution had not provided sufficient grounds to deny bail.

He granted each defendant bail in the sum of ₦50 million with two sureties in like sum, who must provide an affidavit of means.

The judge released them to their lawyer pending the fulfillment of the bail conditions.

The case was adjourned to January 14, 2026, for trial.
