Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Samuel Uche Kanu, who was kidnapped on Sunday afternoon, May 29, alongside two other clerics on the Lokpa axis of the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway has been freed by their abductors.
He was released along with other victims on Monday evening, according to a source.
The source, however, did not state if any ransom was paid before the cleric was freed, The Vanguard reports.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in charge of Abia State, Geoffrey Ogbonna, confirmed the freedom of the prelate, and two other priests, but stated that there were no concrete details concerning payment of ransom yet.
