Nigeria experienced yet another national grid collapse on Wednesday, plunging the country into widespread darkness.
This latest incident which is the eleventh in 2024 occurred around 2:06 PM, as disclosed in a post on the official X account of Nigeria’s national grid.
“The major grid setback has occurred and the restoration is to commence,” it reads.
The collapse comes on the heels of multiple grid failures in October, which drew public outcry and promises of a permanent solution from the Federal Government.
The recurring issue has raised concerns about the stability of the country’s power infrastructure and the effectiveness of measures taken to prevent further breakdowns as many Nigerians continue to endure the impact of unreliable electricity supply on homes, businesses, and daily activities.
