This was disclosed on Thursday in a statement signed by Abdullberqy Usman Ebbo, who is the spokesperson for Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru. “In a move towards improving education in Niger State, the Special Adviser on Intergovernmental and Development Partnerships to the Governor, Alqassim Abdulkhadir, met with Dr. Birol Akgun, President of Maarif Foundation,” Ebbo said. “At the meeting, they discussed possible educational partnerships between the state and the foundation.” According to Ebbo, the Maarif Foundation, known for its global outreach in education, has constructed 377 schools worldwide at no cost. The spokesperson to the Niger governor added that discussions opened up avenues for collaboration that could greatly benefit the state’s educational landscape. He said that the meeting with the president of the Maarif Foundation, Dr. Akgun, was organized by the Presidency of Turkey (YTB). Ebbo stated that the meeting also highlighted the diplomatic efforts to achieve a sustainable educational framework in Niger State.
