Nigerian man arraigned in UK for killing ex-lover

    A 40-year-old Nigerian man living in the United Kingdom, Adedapo Adegbola, has appeared before Nottingham Crown Court after murdering his former girlfriend, 23-year-old university student Steph Irons, following the end of their relationship.

    Adegbola committed the crime on October 21, 2025.

    The killing occurred at Steph’s home in Mapperley, Nottingham, UK.

    Steph’s colleagues became alarmed after receiving a series of messages and alerted the police. Officers arrived to find her in the living room with fatal knife wounds, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Adegbola fled immediately, leaving behind blood-stained items, and traveled through several towns before eventually surrendering to authorities.

    Adegbola where he pleaded guilty to murder and was remanded in custody ahead of his sentencing on February 5.
