Nigerian Troops neutralize two bandits in Kaduna

Nigerian troops of Operation Forest Sanity, on Tuesday said its operatives ambushed and neutralized two bandits in Kaduna State.

Lt-Col Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 1 Division Nigerian Army, confirmed the incident in a statement in Kaduna.

Yahaya said the operation Forest Sanity soldiers from the 1 Division Nigerian Army ambushed and successfully neutralized two bandit leaders after receiving a tip from a human intelligence source, seizing weapons, ammunition, and other supplies.

He claimed that earlier information from intelligence sources had shown that a bandit leader by the name of Isiya Danwasa had planned to send his errand boy Yunusa to buy some weapons and ammunition in Kaduna town.

The delivery boy was later used to lure two of the bandits’ leaders to a chosen ammunition collection point after being pursued and captured by plain clothes soldiers.

He claimed that when the troops arrived, the ambushed soldiers engaged the criminals with greater firepower and neutralized them.

Yahaya said, the bandits left behind a motorcycle, two AK-47 rifles, six AK-47 magazines, 250 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, one power bank, two charm vests, and N200,000 in addition to other items.

Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Joint Task Force Operation, praised the soldiers for their professional demeanor and flawless performance of the task.

He also commanded the troops to pursue all bandits and show them no mercy.

Meanwhile, governor of Kaduna state, El-Rufai, praises the military for taking out notorious bandit Isiya Danwasa in the Igabi LGA

The infamous bandit leader Isiya Danwasa was neutralized by Operation Forest Sanity (OPFS) troops.

Danwasa was in charge of numerous murders, kidnappings, and cattle rustling operations throughout the state, and Governor Nasir El-rufai praised the troops for their meticulous intelligence.
