A 60-year-old Nigerian woman, Nkiru Chima, was found dead with multiple stab wounds in her apartment in Romford, United Kingdom.
According to a statement released by the UK Metropolitan Police on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, officers were alerted by the British Transport Police around 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025, and responded to the apartment.
Upon arrival, police discovered Chima’s lifeless body with multiple stab wounds and pronounced her dead at the scene. The address was identified as Bushy Close, RM1.
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command indicated that Chima’s death is believed to be connected to the death of a 20 year old man who was found dead on the train tracks at Romford station earlier on the same day.
The man was reportedly known to Chima, and British Transport Police are continuing their investigation into his death.
Yorke expressed gratitude to the local community for their support and urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
She also emphasized that the police will continue to support the victim’s family during this difficult time.

In a related report from Monday, July 28, 2025, two individuals were charged with the murder of a 26 year old Nigerian man, Ayowale Aladejana, who was fatally stabbed in New Cross, southeast London.
Detectives are continuing their investigations into that case as well.
