Operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara state command, have arrested a member of a three-man inter-state kidnap gang, Boodoo Musa Alhaji, for kidnapping and murder.
The gang had kidnapped an eighty-year-old man, Alhaji Abba, in Eruwa, Oyo state, collected ransom, and later killed the victim.
The public relations officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara state command, Olasunkanmi Ayeni, said Musa, who is an ex-convict committed the crime in Eruwa, Oyo state, while he was arrested at Banni community in the Kaiama local government area of Kwara state on Sunday, July 17.
The command has now launched a manhunt for other members of the gang who are currently at large.
Meanwhile, Musa, on Monday afternoon, July 18, denied claims of being a kidnapper, according to Daily Post.
“I was arrested because the victim had told one Alhaji Isiaka, a member of vigilante group in the area before the development, that I should be arrested if anything happened to him,” Musa said.
