Ondo governor dismiss all political aides, plan 1,000 new appointments

    Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dismissed all his current political aides, announcing plans to bring in 1,000 new appointees from the state’s 18 local government areas.

    The announcement came through a statement by his chief press secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, specifying that those relieved include senior special assistants, SSAs, and special assistants, SAs, to the governor.

    The statement emphasized that the governor’s decision is part of an effort to improve efficiency and service delivery across the state.

    It added that new appointments will come from all 203 wards in Ondo state to strengthen coordination and introduce fresh capacity into the administration.

    The statement read, “In the ongoing drive to enhance efficiency and deepen service delivery, Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has relieved all political aides of their duties with immediate effect.

    “Those affected are senior special assistants and special assistants to the Governor.

    “The governor thanked them for their contributions to the development of the State thus far and wished them well in their future endeavours.

    “Meanwhile, in a step to strengthen coordination and inject fresh capacity into the administration, about 1,000 new aides, from across the 203 wards in the 18 local government areas of the state, will be appointed by the governor in due course.”
