According to the Executive Secretary of the state’s Pilgrims Welfare Board, AbdulKadir AbdulSalam, the contingent did not record any case of arrest or questioning from relevant authorities throughout the exercise. Already, 1,600 pilgrims from Kwara that performed the hajj through the Pilgrims Welfare Board have so far been airlifted back home. The board’s scribe said six flights had already been used for the latest arrival via Air Peace with 271 pilgrims on board arriving yesterday. He noted: “They are among the 3,546 that were airlifted from the state through the board for this year’s pilgrimage to the holy land.” He appealed to the remaining pilgrims to be patient, as the state would resume another airlift on July 19, while the airlifting would be completed before month end.
