Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has announced the renaming of The Polytechnic, Ibadan after late Omololu Olunloyo, a former governor of the state.
He made this announcement in his brief remarks at the interdenominational commendation service for the late former governor, held at the Obafemi Awolowo stadium in Ibadan, the state capital.
Makinde said, “The institution will now be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.”
The late Olunloyo was the pioneer Rector of the institution. He was also a mathematician an engineer, and renowned technocrat.
He died a few weeks to his 90th birthday, on April 6 to be precise.
