Indian military says Pakistani drones shot down over AmritsarThe Indian army said it shot down several Pakistani drones over the city of Amritsar on Saturday morning, criticizing a “blatant attempt to violate India’s sovereignty and endanger civilians.”
A statement said “multiple enemy armed drones” were spotted over the western suburb of Khasa Cannt at approximately 5 a.m. local time before being “instantly engaged and destroyed” by air defense units.
“Pakistan’s blatant escalation with drone strikes and other munitions continues along our western borders,” read the statement.
“[The] Indian army will thwart enemy designs.”

The chief minister of the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, said a civil administration official was killed when a shell struck his house in the town of Rajouri, close to the highly militarized line of control in the disputed region.
The two other casualties were members of the official’s staff, police said.
Indian officials said Pakistani troops bombarded their positions overnight with artillery, mortars and gunfire at multiple locations, and that Indian troops had responded.

“[The] explosions that we are hearing today are different from the ones we heard the last two nights during drone attacks,” Sheesh Paul Vaid, the region’s former top police official and a resident of Jammu, told the Associated Press, adding: “It looks like a war here.”
He said it appeared army sites were being targeted since the explosions were heard from areas that have military bases.

Pakistan says 3 air bases targeted by Indian missilesPakistan’s armed forces said on Saturday that three air bases had been the targets of Indian missile attacks, including one near the army’s headquarters on the outskirts of the capital, Islamabad.
A military spokesperson said the majority of Indian missiles had been intercepted by Pakistani air defense systems and that those that did made it through failed to hit their targets.
“India, with its naked aggression, has attacked with missiles,” said Lt. Gen. Ahmad Sharif in a video broadcast live by Pakistani state television, naming the air bases at Nur Khan, Murid and Shorkot.
He said all Pakistan Air Force assets were and claimed that Pakistan had retrieved electronic signatures of the missiles which reveal where they were fired from.
“Now you just wait for our response,” he warned.
Nur Khan air base in Rawalpindi, where the Pakistani military is headquartered, is around 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from Islamabad.
