The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Kabiru Turaki, says it has waived screening requirements for former President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of the party’s presidential primary.

Babangida Aliyu, former governor of Niger state and member of the PDP screening committee, revealed this on Tuesday in Abuja.

Yesterday, the party revealed that it is set to screen Jonathan as the lone presidential aspirant of party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Those listed to screen him are former Vice-President Namadi Sambo, former governor of Plateau State, Jona Jang, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tom Ikimi, among others.

Recall that the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, disclosed last week that Jonathan successfully registered as a member of the party in the fresh digital registration exercise directed by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
