A 52-year-old man identified as Marcus Olasege, was on Monday, September 4, 2023, arraigned in court for assaulting and attempting to kill one Mohammed Alli in Lagos State.
The appellant was arraigned before Magistrate O.Y. Adefope of a Yaba Magistrates’ Court on two counts of assault and a breach of peace.
Haruna Magaji, a police prosecutor, told the court that Alli and the appellant had a misunderstanding over an undisclosed issue which is yet to be resolved.
Due to this, Olasege payed a visit to Alli’s construction site and started stoning his workers when he could not find him.
When Alli arrived at the scene, the appellant was said to have stabbed him with a knife on the left side of his face and on his stomach.
Magaji stated that the incident took place on Saturday, August 12, 2023, around 12 noon at Bishop Oluwole Street, Lagos State.
He added that Olasege acted contrary to the laws and order of the state which made his offence punishable under Sections 168(d) and 173 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
