The Nigeria police force, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command, on Monday, June 20,  arrested a pastor and his son in the Kubwa area of Abuja over a mutilated corpse of a yet-to-be-identified lady dumped in the region.

The pastor and his son were arrested after a tricycle rider approached the police, and told them that he conveyed the two sacks used in concealing the remains of the victim, according to a source.

The source stated that, “The pastor’s son lied to the tricycle rider that the sacks were scraps, and asked him to take them to the PW bridge dumping site.

“The mutilated body was discovered the following morning after some ‘baban bola’ (scavengers) wandering around the street in their usual search for items found the beheaded corpse of a woman packed inside two bags beside a riverside, while the body parts were cut into pieces with blood stains on the bags.

“After they alerted residents of the neighbourhood, the tricycle rider, who is also a resident, admitted he was given N1,000 to dump the bags at the riverside by the pastor’s son, and voluntarily led the police operatives to the church premises.”

According to an eyewitness, the pastor’s son was in handcuffs, and the pastor was seen being led out of the building by police operatives around 3 pm on Monday, June 20, into a police van.

The eyewitness added that the police later returned to the area on Tuesday afternoon to make further enquiries on the building before they sealed the church premises.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kubwa region, CSP Abubakar Abdulkarim, while confirming the arrest, stated that the pastor and his son were in police custody.
