The Kano state police command, on Friday, June 17, announced the arrest of three persons for producing fake vehicles documents.
Spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, while confirming the arrest of the perpetrators, said the arrest was in continuation of a case related to vehicle theft, where one Odinaka Godwin and two others were arrested in possession of nine pairs of number plates for different vehicles, and a total of ten cars.
Kiyawa noted that the continuation of the case also led to the arrest of a 57-year-old man called Abdulra’uf Olalade, and his accomplices, Abdullahi Suleman and Suleman Ibrahim, Daily Post reports.
The men confessed to having specialized in producing fake vehicle documents, according to the police spokesperson.
Kiyawa noted that the perpetrators will be charged to court for prosecution soon, adding that seven out of the ten stolen vehicles were handed over to the rightful owners, while the remaining three are not yet claimed.
