Police arrests man for rustling cattle worth N7m in Gombe

    The Gombe State Police Command  has apprehended a 30-year-old resident of Bandila village in Gulani Local Government Area of Yobe state for rustling cattle estimated at N7million.

    Parading the suspect, the command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, said the suspect, Kabo stole the cattle at Funakaye Local Government Area of the state.

    He stated that the case was reported by one Jauro Ahmadu, a 75-year-old of Shuwari village in Bajoga in Funakaye LGA to the Bajoga Divisional Police headquarters.

    The police spokesperson said  that Ahmadu reported that  his 21 cattle valued at N7 million had been stolen from his village at night.

    Based on the report, Abubakar said that the Divisional Police Officer detailed his personnel to commence investigations  into the complaint.

    The spokesperon said that policemen  immediately swung into action.

    He warned cattle rustlers to stay away from Gombe State as officers have been equipped with the relevant equipment to end their activities.

    Abubakar said that, “After conducting a thorough investigation, the suspect, Sale Kabo was arrested in connection with the theft which he later  confessed to.

    “”All the stolen cows and other relevant exhibits were recovered.

    The police spokesman disclosed that  suspect is currently in police custody and woull be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
