Five people have reportedly died under questionable circumstances at Afashio Community, Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

The incident allegedly occurred last week when five individuals, including four boys and a girl, were found dead in a room.

The bodies were discovered by family members who, noticing that they had not come out of the room, decided to check on them and found them lifeless.

Further reports indicate that two of the victims were brothers, while the remaining three, including the female, were friends.

A community source suggested that food poisoning is suspected, as there were no signs of assault or visible injuries on the victims.

The matter has been reported to the Jattu Police Division in Edo State, with family members attempting to ascertain the cause of the deaths.

When contacted, Edo State Command Spokesperson Moses Yamu confirmed the incident.

He said, “The Command is aware. An investigation to determine the cause of death is ongoing.”
