The Rivers state police command has rescued five individuals who were abducted by cultists in Emuoha local government area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, said the operation was carried out around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday by the command’s tactical teams in collaboration with other security agencies and with support from the Rumudogo two community.
The rescued victims have been identified as Prince London, Azubuike Kelechukwu, Elizabeth Aniete, Onyebuchi Precious, and London Sampson.
She stated that the victims were immediately taken to a hospital for medical evaluation, adding that intensive efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing cultists.
The commissioner of police, Olugbenga Adepoju, reiterated the command‘s commitment to relentlessly pursue all perpetrators to ensure they face justice.
He also called for continued cooperation from security agencies, community members, and the public while assuring residents that their safety remains a top priority.
