Adamawa state police command has rescued abducted pastors from a kidnappers’ den in Gujubabu Hill, Yola South Local Government and killed one the kidnappers.
The state police public relations officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, posted iton the command’s Twitter page on Friday as a confirmation.
He revealed that items recovered during the operation include one Ak-47 rifle, handsets, and chains.
He added that the operation, which was carried out by the Command’s operatives led by Commander Crack Squad in a joint operation with Hunters of Tabital Pulaku, yielded a positive result.
He claimed that the outcome of these successes is based on collaborative strategy with Hunters to Dislodge Criminal Hideouts designed by the command to rescue the kidnapped victims and arrest the culprits.
He narrated that the kidnappers sited police men around the hideout, engaged them in a gun duel which led to the killing of one them while others escaped with bullet wounds.
However, Yahaya added that the AK-47 rifle recovered, was loaded with twenty-five rounds of live ammunition but victims were rescued unharmed.
