Police rescue two suspected kidnappers from mob attack in Oyo

    The Oyo State Police Command has said its operatives rescued two suspected kidnappers from a mob attack around Alakia Adelubi axis, Ibadan, the state capital

    According to a statement by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Adewale Osifeso, the suspects allegedly attempted to kidnap a nine-year-old girl on her way to church, yesterday, March 20, 2022.

    The statement reads, “On Sunday 20/03/2020 at about 0920HRS, operatives of the Command on Intelligence-led surveillance and patrol around Alakia Adelubi axis, Ibadan responded to a distress call regarding the execution of Jungle justice on the duo of Kabiru Salam ‘m’ aged 32 and Lukman Adisa ‘m’ for allegedly attempting to abduct a 9-year-old female, “Ope” on her way to church.

    “Preliminary investigations revealed that the girl was in the company of her mother, one Afolabi Modupe ‘F’ and other siblings when the two suspects attempted seizing her from her Mother’s grip.

    “The suspects who are now in Police custody were first taken for immediate medical attention.

    “While investigations into the matter have immediately commenced. The Commissioner has appealed to the citizenry against taking laws into their hands with the assurances of a diligent and thorough investigation into the incident.

    “Further updates would be communicated in due course, please”.
