The Presidency has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu is set to carry out a cabinet reshuffle soon.
This was disclosed by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, during a briefing at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday, September 25.
Onanuga stated that while the exact timing of the reshuffle is uncertain, it could happen at any moment, though he could not confirm whether it would take place before October 1.
President Tinubu initially appointed his cabinet ministers in August 2023, but growing concerns over the performance of some ministers have sparked calls for a shake-up.
Members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the general public have been vocal about their dissatisfaction with certain ministries, prompting the demand for changes in the government’s leadership.
The President himself had hinted at a cabinet overhaul during a recent meeting with Northern leaders at the State House in Abuja, confirming his intention to make adjustments to improve the effectiveness of his administration.
