Socialite and night life entrepreneur, Pascal Okechukwu aka Cubana Chief Priest has revealed why he failed to secure the All Progressives Congress, APC House of Representatives ticket for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency in Imo State. [1,

He is however giving three conflicting reasons for his failure.

First he said he withdrew from the race before the primary began. According to him, Imo State hovernor Hope Uzodimma explained the party’s zoning arrangement, clarifying that it was not yet the turn of his local government area to produce the representative.

According to him, recognizing this, he stepped down to respect party structures.

Prior to his withdrawal claim, he expressed deep disappointment over the process, stating his only regret was trusting the elders in the community.

This response came amid heavy online backlash and widespread reports that he participated in the voting but only received 14 votes.

And now he is blaming President Bola Tinubu for his failure.

He says Tinubu does not trust him as an Igbo man.

He said that one of the reasons he would not expect the president to receive him with open arms is because he had worked for Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election.

Recall that the nightlife promoter, who serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, threw his weight behind Tinubu, saying he does not want to lose a second time with Obi.

He believes strongly that Obi stands no chance of winning the 2027 presidential election.

“As I am now, Tinubu doesn’t really trust me as an Igbo man. He looks at me with one eye. He is still like ‘this one that has worked for Peter Obi before’.

Following his defeat in the primary, Seyi Tinubu, the son of the president, sent him s message of encouragement, which was later reposted by Cubana Chief Priest.

Seyi advised him not to be discouraged by the outcome, noting that setbacks can lead to future success.

He went on to explain that he worked for Obi in 2023 but had to abandon the former governor of Anambra State and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party because he believes Obi cannot defeat Tinubu in 2027.
