American actress, Jada Pinkett Smith, has explained why she cannot divorce Will Smith, her husband.
The couple have been in the news on several occasions for controversial reasons.
Recently, Jada revealed that she and her husband have been living separately since 2016.
Recently while on a media tour of her soon to be released memoir, a message was read out, on, On Purpose podcast by host, Jay Shetty. It was a message from Smith celebrating Worthy, the soon to be released memoir.
In the message, Will said if he had read her book 30 years ago, he would have hugged her more.
He expressed his love for her and welcomed her to the authors club.
Smith also suggested that she unwind with a glass of red wine to celebrate their achievement.
The host read, “I applaud and honour you. If I had read this book 30 years ago, I definitely would have hugged you more. I’ll start now. Welcome to the authors club. I love you endlessly. Now go get some Merlot and take a rest.”
Reacting to her husband’s kind words, Jada blushed and said Smith’s sense of humour is the reason she cannot divorce “that joker”.
“Hahaha. He knows I cannot have no Merlot. That is beautiful. That is why I cannot divorce that joker.”
In 2020, Will and Jada were in the spotlight over reports of Jada’s affair with August Alsina, the US rapper.
They also made the headlines in March after Smith slapped Chris Rock, the comedian, at the 2022 Oscars for making a joke about his wife’s shaved head.
Jada also recently expressed her love for late rapper, Tupac Shakur, using a word that feels like a slight against her husband.
Jada described Tupac as her one true ‘soulmate,’ despite 19 years of marriage to Will Smith.
