The House of Representatives’ Committee on Constitutional Review has submitted its report to the House in its plenary session.
Some of the highlights of the report include the recommendation that the immunity clause which has been the subject of debates in time past be expunged from Nigeria’s constitution. The Committee also recommended that convicted electoral offenders should be barred from holding public office.
The immunity clause offers protection from prosecution for the President, Vice President, Governors and their deputies while they are in office.
