[ Atanda, who was earlier reported missing, was killed by unknown assailants within the campus. Her lifeless body was discovered in a shallow grave some distance from her lecture theatre, where she allegedly went to study. Speaking on the development at a workshop on modern teaching techniques for teachers drawn from Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 in Oye Ekiti, spokesperson for the House of Reps, Akin Rotimi, wondered how such a crime could take place within the school campus. The lawmaker, who condemned the act, said the National Assembly would ensure that Atanda gets justice by bringing the perpetrators to book. “It’s a very dastardly act, and a sad one. There is what we call safe space where such should never happen, and the school environment is one of them. It’s a very sad development and worrisome. “We would ensure that Modupe Atanda gets justice and perpetrators are brought to book, I condemn it and it’s deeply distressing and sad. “We stand by the Student Union Government and other stakeholders, to extend our deepest condolences and to call on the authorities to ensure that this never happens again,” he added.
