The accident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, between Bolorunduro and Ogbese on the Akure-Owo road in Ondo State. An eyewitness said the accident was caused by the Sienna bus driver’s attempt to overtake a trailer at a sharp bend. The bus collided head-on with an oncoming tipper truck. The driver of the Sienna bus and five passengers were killed on the spot. One female passenger survived with minor injuries. The injured passenger was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
