Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Wednesday, dissolved his cabinet, ordering all political appointees in Anambra state to hand over their duties with immediate effect.
This came barely 24 hours after his second term inauguration as the governor of the state.
The instruction was communicated through an official circular dated March 18 by the office of the secretary to the state government, SSG.
The directive mandates affected officials to transfer their responsibilities to permanent secretaries or, where unavailable, the most senior civil servant within their respective ministries, departments, and agencies, MDAs.
The memo further states that the handover process must be concluded before the end of work on the same day, pending the formation of a new cabinet.
“I am directed to inform all political appointees to hand over to the permanent secretaries or the most senior civil servant in the various MDAs on or before the close of work today. until a new cabinet is constituted,” the statement read.
In addition, all members of the outgoing cabinet have been scheduled to meet with the governor on Monday, March 23, at 10:00 a.m. at the ANSEC Chambers.
The circular bears the signature of Nwabufor Nwankwo, Permanent Secretary in the office of the secretary to the state government.
This move effectively dissolves the current cabinet and signals the start of a new administrative phase under Governor Soludo as he prepares to appoint a fresh executive council.
