The federal government has said that the 15th batch of Nigerians evacuated from Sudan has arrived in the federal capital territory (FCT), Abuja.
Onimode Bandele, director of special duties, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), made this known after 125 Nigerians from Sudan arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Saturday, May 13.
Bandele added that 125 Nigerians were airlifted from Port Sudan into the country.
He also welcomed the returnees on behalf of the federal government. He said there were no more stranded Nigerian women and children in Sudan.
Bandele added that another batch of Nigerians would arrive later on Saturday.
Meanwhile, representatives of the ministries of humanitarian affairs, foreign affairs, national commission for refugees, migrants and internally displaced persons, among others, were on ground to receive the returnees.
