Terrorists struck again in Kwara state on Wednesday evening, abducting four rice farmers in Bokungi village, Edu Local Government Area (LGA).
The incident occurred a day after a church was attacked in Eruku, Ekiti LGA.
Eyewitnesses said the farmers were working on their rice fields during the peak of the harvest when the attackers suddenly arrived, surrounding them and forcing them into the nearby bush before whisking them away.
They said the terrorists operated for several minutes without resistance, leaving residents in fear and uncertainty.
Residents described rising insecurity in Edu LGA as a major threat to farming settlements, noting that several communities have been deserted as farmers fear venturing into the fields during the harvest period which is their most vulnerable time.
Residents are urging security agencies and the Kwara state government to step up operations in the area to prevent further abductions and loss of lives.
The Kwara state police command has not yet issued an official statement.
