The film, which cost an estimated $200million to produce, follows the caped crusader as he tracks down serial killer Paul Dano battling crime, corruption and his demons. Spider-Man: No Way Home is the only other film produced in the pandemic era to surpass the $100million mark in its opening weekend, raking in $260million in ticket sales in December. Coming in second place is Sony adventure film “Uncharted,” starring Tom Holland, raking in $11 million despite its domestic total passing $100 million. Metro Goldwyn Mayer’s buddy comedy Dog, which saw Channing Tatum play a war-wounded US Army Ranger, placed third with $6million. The Ranger drives Lulu, a dog injured while working with the military in Afghanistan, to her former handler’s funeral. In fourth place, 12 weeks since its release, is Spider-Man with $4.4 million in domestic ticket sales and almost $1 billion international earnings. Down one place in fifth position is 20th Century’s murder mystery Death on the Nile at $2.7 million.
