Other newspapers nominated in the print category include Business Day, The Nation, This Day and Arts & Artists Magazine. Convener of the event, Mr Nkang Inidan noted that the imperative of Arts to the development of the country could not be overemphasized. He urged the government to invest in Arts because it has more returns on investment than oil and gas. He said oil may dry up one day but Arts would keep springing up. President, Society of Nigerian Arts, Muhammed Suleiman said in Nigeria, art connects cultural commodities in a way that not many other things can. He said Art generates money but also holds significant sentiment and cultural values within its communities.
