An explosion in Iware town, Taraba State’s Ardo Kola Local Government Area, is suspected to have killed a large number of people.
A device exploded in a packed local restaurant, according to reports.
More than 20 people were injured in the incident, including women. They were rushed to the Federal Medical Center in the state’s capital, Jalingo.
A Source in Iware who said the bomber was accompanied by another disguised as a customer, The Vanguard reports.
According to him, the bomber carried the explosive in a black polythene bag and carefully dropped it at the drinking spot before leaving the establishment.
He said, “the two guys came to the drinking spot as if they wanted to buy the local beer.
“After they were served the one holding the poly bag containing the bomb dropped his beer and the polythene bag, and left.
“The accomplice who then said he was going to look for his friend and would come back.
“After he had also left, the bomb exploded and many people were injured while some others were killed.”
DSP Usman Abdullahi, a spokesman for the Taraba Police Command, confirmed the incident but said three people died and 19 were injured.
