Three persons killed as gunmen attack Plateau community

Three people were confirmed dead after gunmen attacked the Maiyanga community in Plateau State’s Bokkos LGA, on Monday,February 6.

Two other people were injured by gunshots during the attack on Sunday night, according to reports.

Bulus Sule, a resident of Maiyanga community, while confirming the incident in Jos on Monday, said that those who injured had been evacuated to a hospital where they are currently being treated.

Sule further narrated that the gunmen came and attacked the people in Maiyanga community last night (Sunday) they killed three people and injured two others with gunshots.The shooting was simply excessive.The community is in pain right now.

Another community member, who identified himself as Ilya, condemned the killing.

According to him, the attack was reported to security agents, who arrived in the community several hours after the gunmen fled.

He urged the government to strengthen community security in order to prevent further attacks on the people.

The spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, Alabo Alfred, is yet to comment on the attack.
