President Bola Tinubu on Friday arrived in Katsina State on a two-day working visit.
The President was received by APC governors of Northern states, led by the governor of Katsina, Dikko Umar Radda.
Also present to receive the President at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport was the chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje.
The Northern governors who joined the governor of Katsina state in receiving the President included Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, and other top APC officials.
After disembarking from the presidential aircraft, President Tinubu addressed the security personnel in the state.
He is expected to inaugurate two key projects completed by the administration of Governor Umar Radda.
Among the projects slated for commissioning is the newly constructed Eastern Bypass, which links Dutsin-Ma Road with Kano and Daura Roads, and extends to Yandaki in Kaita Local Government Area. The road project is expected to significantly ease traffic flow and boost connectivity within the state.
Also on the President’s itinerary is the official commissioning of the Katsina State Agricultural Mechanisation Centre, a strategic initiative aimed at modernising farming practices and boosting food production in the region.
Earlier, the Katsina State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Bala Salisu-Zango, described the President’s visit as a milestone for the state, not only because of the developmental projects being unveiled but also because it offers a platform for state officials to present pressing issues, particularly the persistent security challenges, directly to the President.
