President Bola Tinubu on Friday congratulated Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, as he celebrated his 71st birthday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President extolled Oyedepo’s decades-long impact on Nigeria’s spiritual, educational, and social development.
He described the Presiding Bishop of Winners Chapel as a towering figure of influence and impact in Nigeria, Africa and beyond on spiritual, educational and philanthropic platforms.
Tinubu lauded the cleric’s discipline and dedication since founding the ministry in 1982, noting that these values have driven the global growth of Living Faith Church Worldwide while also fostering investments in infrastructure, healthcare, and education across cities and nations.
The President specifically commended Oyedepo’s contributions to the education sector through institutions such as Kingdom Heritage Schools, Faith Academy, and the universities Covenant and Landmark, which he said continue to raise the standard of education, competing favourably with other global institutions.
“Your steadfastness in the Word of Faith ministry is exemplary, birthing many ministries with resonating impact on key sectors of the economy,” Tinubu noted.
He further acknowledged Oyedepo’s role in nation-building through preaching, teaching, and humanitarian work, describing him as a pacesetter and symbol of a servant leader for many to emulate.
The President offered prayers for Oyedepo’s continued strength, saying he wished him long life, sound health, and divine wisdom to keep lifting individuals, families and nations with the Word of Faith.
Bishop Oyedepo, regarded as one of Nigeria’s most prominent Christian leaders, established Living Faith Church Worldwide in 1981. The church’s international headquarters, Faith Tabernacle, is located in Ota, Ogun State.
