President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday held a closed-door meeting with Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed at the presidential villa in Abuja.
Sources indicated that the governor visited Aso Rock to brief the President on the current security developments in Bauchi State.
In recent weeks, parts of the state have witnessed unrest and growing concerns over safety.
The governor specifically informed the President about the troubling activities of bandits operating in Alkaleri Local Government Area, stressing the need for swift intervention.
Speaking on developments in the political landscape, especially the ongoing defections from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, Bala Mohammed stated that those leaving the party are entitled to join any political platform they prefer.
Despite the shifting political tide, the governor reaffirmed his decision to remain with the opposition party.
