President Bola Tinubu on Thursday, August 27, met with All Progressives Congress (APC) governors at the state house in Abuja.
The governors attended the meeting under the aegis of the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF).
The meeting followed an earlier session of the National Economic Council (NEC), chaired by vice-president Kashim Shettima, which was attended by the governors.
The meeting came days after the All Progressives Congress (APC) unveiled its presidential campaign council for the 2027 elections.
The party named former Zamfara state governor Abdulaziz Yari as director-general of the campaign council and Imo state governor Hope Uzodimma as secretary.
The APC also announced the reopening of its electronic membership registration exercise nationwide ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The registration exercise is scheduled to resume on Monday, August 31, according to a statement issued by APC national publicity secretary Felix Morka on Tuesday, August 25.
The meeting between Tinubu and the APC governors is also coming as the party begins preparations for the 2027 elections.
