President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to the Muslim Ummah on the passing of the esteemed Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello, who died at the age of 84.
Tinubu noted that the revered scholar dedicated his life to serving Allah and humanity, using his profound understanding of the Quran, wisdom, and exceptional interpretative skills to bring peace, comfort, and guidance to countless individuals.
In a statement released on Friday by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the president highlighted Sheikh Bello’s early discovery of his divine calling, shaped by his dedication to prayer, study, and reflection.
This devotion, Tinubu said, influenced the lives and destinies of many Muslims both within and beyond Nigeria.
The president also recognized the cleric’s strong advocacy for charity, peace, and civil harmony, as well as his consistent advice to leaders on the values of trust, honesty, and fairness as foundations for effective governance.
