President Bola Tinubu has appointed Brigadier General Kunle Nafiu as the new Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, replacing Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed.
Until his appointment, Brig. Gen. Nafiu served as the Chief of Staff to the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede. He previously held the same position under the late COAS, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.
A seasoned military officer, Nafiu is a member of the 47 Regular Course and an Artillery Officer. He is an alumnus of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, as well as the United States Army War College.
His extensive experience includes serving as a Directing Staff at the Army War College, Nigeria, before assuming the role of Chief of Staff to the COAS.
Brig. Gen. Nafiu hails from Ileogbo in the Aiyedire Local Government Area of Osun State. His appointment takes immediate effect.
