The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje, are among the dignitaries who will storm the University of Ibadan (UI) on Tuesday, February 7, for the commissioning of a 500-seater Ganduje Auditorium, a lecture theatre built and donated by the governor.
Ganduje, who is an alumnus of the university, had said that his doctorate degree training in UI about 30 years ago equipped him for the giant strides he was able to accomplish in all spheres of life, hence the donation.
The 500-seater auditorium is for the faculty of basic medical sciences which had hitherto suffered inadequacy of lecture theatre.
A source from the University of Ibadan Alumni Association (UIAA) which facilitated the project under the leadership of the immediate past president, Prof. Elsie Adewoye, hinted that all arrangements were being finalized to unveil the project on Tuesday.
As of Saturday, February 4, finishing touches were being put into the project.
It is worth noting that the UI pro-chancellor and chairman of governing council, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, in 2022, described the action of the governor of Kano state as an exemplary and exceptional act of benevolence towards his alma mater.
