The defense minister of Chad, General Daoud Yaya Brahim, and the government’s general secretary, Haliki Choua Mahamat, have resigned after two separate sex tapes showing the men were leaked on social media.
The spokesperson announced the development in a statement on Wednesday, October 18, as Saleh Kebzabo, the Prime Minister accepted their resignations without giving further details.
The videos, which circulated on Sunday and Monday, vividly showed the men engaging in intimate acts with other people.
Ironically, this scenario abounds everywhere even in Nigeria. One can easily recall how back in 2017, a senator and former governor of Yobe State, Bukar Abba Ibrahim, was seen in a viral video in the midst of women in a hotel room.
He however said that he had not committed any official wrongdoing and the video was only made public after attempts to blackmail him failed.
“This is a personal, private matter. What does my having been with a girl have to do with the public?
“You know the normal thing, people ask for unreasonable things, and if you deny them, they try to blackmail you if they have a way,” he had said.
The senator further said that he owed no one an explanation since he was not accused of any crime.
