Transcorp Hilton Abuja, on Wednesday, April 8, withdrew as the host venue for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) national convention scheduled for April 14.
The party received notice that the hotel would no longer host the event.
Party officials have said they will go ahead with the conve
ntion and are now looking for an alternative location.
Some supporters have suggested moving the event to cities such as Kano or Kaduna, while others have insisted that the programme will take place regardless of the setback.
The ADC released a timetable for nationwide congresses and the national convention earlier this month.
The exercise is meant to elect new party leaders and strengthen structures ahead of future polls.
This is not the first time a venue linked to the coalition has pulled out at short notice.
In 2025, another Abuja hotel withdrew from hosting the unveiling of the ADC as the opposition platform, citing internal compliance issues.
Coalition members say they remain focused on completing the congresses and convention as scheduled.
They have already given the required notice to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the activities.
The development comes at a time when political activities are increasing across parties in preparation for the next election cycle.
