Troops of the Nigerian army on Monday, January 26, rescued 11 victims kidnapped in Kachia local government area of Kaduna state.
The rescue took place on Monday night after troops stationed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Doka detected suspicious movement along the Kaduna-Abuja highway using a long-range CCTV camera.
The cameras captured armed terrorists trekking through the bush along the Gidan Duna-Amale axis with a group of captives, and immediately mobilized to intercept them.
However, upon sighting the approaching troops, vehicles, and motorcycles, they abandoned the victims and fled into the bush.
After securing the area and ensuring no counter-attack was imminent, troops safely recovered all 11 victims.
The rescued victims include five adult males, three adult females, and three children.
Investigations revealed that the victims had been in captivity since October 26, 2025, after being abducted from Gada Mallam Maman community in Kachia local government area.
Following the operation, the victims were safely returned to their community and reunited with their families.
The army reaffirmed its commitment to sustained operations targeting criminal elements and ensuring the safety of lives and property along major highways and communities.
