A cabinet reshuffle by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, October 23, saw Sunday Dare, a former Minister of Sports, appointed as Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation.
Additionally, Ambassador Bianca Onoh, the widow of the late Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, has been named the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
In the significant cabinet reshuffle, five ministers have been relieved of their duties. Notably, Uju-Kennedy Ohanenye, the Minister of Women Affairs, has been dismissed.
Other ministers removed from their positions include Lola Ade-John (Minister of Tourism), Prof. Tahir Mamman (Minister of Education), Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo (Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development), and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Minister of Youth Development).
The new appointments feature Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Idi Mukhtar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.
In a statement released by the Presidency, President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the outgoing members of the Federal Executive Council for their service and wished them success in their future endeavors. He urged the newly appointed and reassigned ministers to view their roles as a significant call to serve the nation.
The President emphasized the administration’s commitment to steering Nigeria toward sustainable growth and urged all appointees to dedicate their best efforts to realizing the government’s priorities.
