The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in Ebonyi state, Prof. Bernard Odoh, was on Thursday, February 2, attacked by unknown gunmen.
Odoh’s media aide, Charles Otu, confirmed the incident on Thursday evening.
He said that the candidate was returning from a campaign rally when they ran into the ambush at the Rest House area along the Enugu/Abakaliki expressway.
According to Otu, Odoh’s driver was shot and later died due to the severity of the gunshot injuries he sustained.
He added that one of the cars in the convoy was also set ablaze by the gunmen.
