UPDATE: Police Secure Banks In Ikorodu After Robbers Escaped With Loot

    The Nigerian Police has boasted that it has secured the Ikorodu area of Lagos where daredevil robbers raided banks in the area.

    “#Ikorodu Lagos now secured after our officers responded to Bank robbery this morning. Police units remain on ground.
    #NPFalert #NPFtraffic,” the Nigerian Police posted on its Twitter handle, @PoliceNG.

    The Street Journal had reported that armed robbers, Wednesday morning, raided banks in Ikorodu, carting away unspecified amount of money.

    It was  gathered the robbers attacked Zenith bank and First Bank located at Ipakodo Ebute, near Ogolonto in Ikorodu near the Dangote office. They were said to have used speed boats in accessing the community, raiding the banks in the area.

    We learnt that Policemen, as usual, are in pursuit of the robbers.

    The Nigerian Police on its Twitter handle: @PoliceNG said: “Our officers are responding to armed robbery at #Ogolonto Ikorodu Lagos. Citizens are advised to stay off vicinity; Lagos now secured after our officers responded to Bank robbery this morning. Police units remain on ground.”
