I only pity Yoruba people because they are always the cause of their own woes.
Besides the fact that the Hausas are the best united group of people among the Nigerian entity come rain, come sun, you would hardly see any Igbo man that goes against Peter Obi irrespective of his flaws.
But in the case of the Yorubas, it is a Yoruba man that will tell you how Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress was born a bastard, how his father or mother has one eye, how his pregnancy was sold, how his father was hanged, how his mother was enslaved etc.
Haba Yoruba! Can’t you promote your son or daughter for once?
No matter how bad a Hausa man is, they will never throw away their son.
If not for Amanna and Islamic culture of some Northern Governors who don’t believe in cheating and stood their ground that power should shift to the South, despite the fact that the power to make the presidency remain in the north was at their beckon, yet they allowed it because of fairness and fear of God, no southerner would have become the presidential flagbearer for the ruling party.
Can Yorubas do same?
The woe of MKO Abiola was at the instance of the Yoruba. The likes of Obasanjo will be remembered for the ignoble role they played with their Igbo allies like Arthur Nzeribe’s famous Association of Better Nigeria, ABN.
History will never be kind to them.
The symbolic outcome Abiola’s syndrome is that a Yoruba Muslim can never be President in Nigeria.
Another opportunity has naturally availed itself for a Yoruba Muslim to become President. Yet some are still criticising the destined man as not qualified, old, corrupt, not doing much for Lagos or Lagos achievement not traceable to him and all untenable excuses just to give a dog name to hang it.
Anyway, the adage in Yoruba that says that “Omo eni koni se idi bebere bebere kafi ileke si Idi omo elomiran,” meaning “You can not have a daughter with a rich and endowed buttock and adorn the buttock of somebody’s daughter with beads.”
I have not seen any Igbo man emphasising the weakness of Peter Obi so far except other tribes. I have not seen any Hausa/Fulani man emphasising the shortcomings of Atiku Abubakar, the presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, despite numerous unholy past as politically enumerated by Obasanjo’s Under my Watch publication.
But it is a Yoruba man who will finish a fellow Yoruba man just as they did Abiola and when the power gets to a non Yoruba, they will be the same ones to lament as they did under former Goodluck Jonathan’s regime.
This was especially so at the twilight of Jonathan’s tenure, save for Buhari who gave thr Yorubas many opportunities to dominate his government just because of this alliance with Tinubu.
One thing you can not take away from a Hausa man is recognition of “AMANNA” and fear of Allah.
Buhari had the choice of betraying Tinubu by ostracising him from the inception of his administration but he kept to his arrangement right from the choice of Osinbajo down to other appointments up until the recent concurence with the Northern governors to allow Presidency to go to the Southwest.
He had a choice of stubbornly sticking to his gun and copy Atiku style and still allow the emergence of a Northern candidate during the primaries.
Heaven will not fall, after all, Obasanjo imposed many aspirants during his tenure.
But credit should be given to who deserves it.
Buhari has by hook or crook delivered his own part of the deal by ensuring his Yoruba ally has been presented to Nigerians from their party. If Yorubas now reject this offer on their own, good luck to them.
Another adage says “Alagemo ti bi omo e tan, Ati moojo kusi owo e,” meaning, “A Chameleon has delivered of her child, the dancing skill, is of the child to decide”
One fact Yorubas need to know is that whether anybody likes it or not, power must shift to the North in 2032, save any unexpected occurrences.
If they miss this opportunity which the Northern faithfuls have provided for the Yorubas and allow the Igbos to grab it, good luck. Ater all, Yorubas can survive under Igbo Presidency with their unpredictable agenda.
Those Yorubas condemning Tinubu due to envy will reap their fruits under Igbo presidency.
Hausas have nothing to loose as they have a fair stake in all candidates and still have a bigger stake come 2032.
Let those who have ears, hear.
The ascendancy of the so called Obasanjo Yoruba Christian presidency was at the instance of the Northerners. How many tribes can be that magnanimous?
The Hausas do not condemn Tinubu except a few paid agents, but some Yorubas voluntarily decided to condemn their son, this same son that dominated Buhari’s government with their Yoruba people.
Why can’t Yoruba “Ronu” meaning “think” and unite for once?
Although, Tinubu is not the best as only Allah knows the best, we all in recent past judged Buhari to be the best. But now, can we all still hold the same judgment and belief?
That is where Allah is superior to all mankind.
Who among us knew Yar’adua will be good when Obasanjo was proposing him. At the end, we were regretting his exit due to nature.
We should not condemn anybody, let’s allow Allah SWT to decide for us through the outcome of the election and not to pass judgment abinitio.
To me, I don’t have so much hope in any of them as I have done that in the past during Buhari’s warm up, but I can not tell you how much hypertension I had from the outcome we are having now. I don’t want to gamble with my life again because I’m guilty now, I became the enemy of many because of Buhari in 2015. I’m tired of having enemies.
But I will not at the same time condemn any candidate. I only pray Allah should choose the best for us.
But from the antecedences of all the candidates, all of them have their good and their bad pasts.
Vote your conscience. Whoever emerges will either betray your hope or fulfill your dreams.
My message is for Yorubas not to condemn their own while others promote theirs. Enough of sell outs for a pot of porridge and blame others for woes.
The attitude of some Yorubas is when the cookie crumbles, they fight from the back.
They caused M.K.O Abiola’s problem, then eventually turned the whole thing to a Yoruba fight which angered other tribes. Now they are starting with Tinubu. If things now go awry, they will start fighting for him from back.
Why can’t you fight from the front now, the way Igbos are fighting for Obi?
It is Hausas fighting for Yorubas now. Can’t you learn your lesson?
