No fewer than two persons and 40 donkeys were killed in a fatal motor accident at Shiwarin town in Kiyawa local Government, Jigawa State on Tuesday, November 5.
This was confirmed by the spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command, Lawan Shiisu Adam in a statement.
According to the statement, “the incident happened when a motor vehicle, with Registration number NGU 498 XA driven by one Mohd Hassan of Potiskum Local Government Area LGA, Yobe, loaded with 100 donkeys and passengers on board, and on reaching Shuwarin town, the driver lost control of the vehicle and fell down.
He said two of the passengers died on the spot, including Innani Abubakar and Kalifa Adamu, all of Potiskum.
The driver sustained serious injury and lost his left hand and was transferred to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital AKTH for treatment.
