Former President of the United States (US) and Republican candidate, Donald Trump is edging closer to securing a second term in the White House after gaining 266 votes while Democrats candidate, Kamala Harris has 195 votes at the ongoing results collation.
This announcement was made in early hours of Wednesday, November 6.
As the way things stand, Trump is just four votes short of the 270 needed to win the presidency.
Trump has won in over half of the 50 states, including three crucial battlegrounds which are: Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, two of which had supported the Democratic candidate in the previous election.
So far, Vice President and Democrats candidate, Kamala Harris has secured 195 electoral votes, including key states like California and New York, along with the US capital, Washington District of Columbia (DC).
